Debeka took first place in this year's PKV map report 2011 for the eleventh time in a row.
In the current map report 2011, private health insurance Debeka was chosen as the best private health insurance. The provider was able to secure first place for the eleventh time in a row. DKV and R + V Versicherung ranked second. Both health insurance companies also achieved good results.
Debeka: Test winner in the PKV rating for the eleventh time A total of 16 private providers of health insurance took part in the evaluation of the 2011 map report. First place went to the second largest private health insurance company in Germany, Debeka. For the eleventh time, Debeka was able to assert itself against its competitors with top marks for profitability, stable contributions and good performance. Debeka continued on its 11th success course and was able to convince industry experts. Especially in the area of balance sheets, customer service and health services, the PKV achieved the highest marks that could be achieved.
Second place in the PKV map report 2011 The second place is shared by the German health insurance (DKV) and the R + V insurance. Both insurance companies were also able to achieve very good marks. Since the takeover of Victoria, DKV has been the industry leader and was able to achieve good test results during the analysis, particularly in the economic area, thanks to high yields.
Allianz Versicherung taking part for the first time So far, Allianz Versicherung had rejected the PKV map report and criticized it violently. To the surprise of many experts, Allianz took part in the test for the first time. Allianz's skepticism is likely to have subsided in the meantime, as it was able to achieve very good results in the evaluation. The evaluators particularly noticed the stable contribution level. In the past ten years, health insurance has only had to increase its premiums twice. In 2000 and 2005, Allianz increased its wage contributions only marginally. This is particularly pleasing to customers, since massive premium increases are a major shortcoming of the PKV.
Only half of all providers participated
There are currently around 45 private health insurance schemes in Germany (number from 2009). Not even half of all providers took part in the PKV map report. This year, 16 companies submitted their data. However, the number of participants has been increasing continuously for years. Other insurance groups want to participate next year.
PKV report for 20 years
The map report has been created every year since 1990. The main focus of the analyzes is on service quality and economy. Allianz, Alte Oldenburger, Concordia, Debeka, DEVK, DKV, HanseMerkur, HUK-Coburg, Inter, LVM, Provinzial, Nürnberger, PAX-Familienfürsorge, R + V, SDK and Signal took part in the current PKV test. The map-report rating system is intended to create better transparency for customers and providers in order to better differentiate the advantages and disadvantages of the individual providers.
The map report generally offers a balance sheet analysis, which is also called PKV rating. The data on inventory and new business contributions have been recorded since 1993. All results of the rating are visible to providers and consumers alike. However, the results only reflect a partial aspect. While consumer decision-making is supported, tariff and individual services in particular are mostly still decisive for choosing the right provider. (sb)
